2020 – 2021 Letter of Intent Submissions Now Accepted

Komen Puget Sound’s mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer. Our goal is to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% by 2026. One way Komen Puget Sound (KPS) is working to achieve this goal, is by funding innovative programs that reduce breast cancer mortality and morbidity. Over the past 25 years, KPS has invested more than $30 million in local nonprofit, tribal and government agencies that provide breast health and breast cancer services to medically underserved residents living in our 16-county service area (Clallam, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, San Juan, Snohomish, Skagit, Thurston, Wahkiakum and Whatcom).

To that end, we are pleased to begin our annual grantmaking process with a special focus on expanding access to breast health services through community health workers and patient navigators.

The first step in our application process is to submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI), which is due on October 17, 2019. Attached to this message you will find the LOI application, guidelines and forms or you can visit our website.

Komen Puget Sound anticipates granting approximately $500,000 – $600,000 in our next grant cycle beginning April 1, 2020 and ending March 31, 2021.  The process is competitive and granting decisions are made by an independent review board that is made up of experts from our community. For more information about our granting procedures, please visit our website.

Note: Successful LOI applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal in November 2019. Further instructions our online Grant Portal will be provided at that time.
